Hurricane Trent hits the house...

Take a three story house, two independent women and three dogs and you have a somewhat peaceful house...somewhat. Now add a five year old and my 29 year old sister, shake it up and what do you have. Instant birth control! Nah, it was fun but shit talk about energy draining.

What a smile

Finally Moving

It's official...I gave my two weeks notice so for all of you who put off coming to visit and take a White House tour, you're out of luck. But in case you wanted to know, it's still white and it's full of lovely things each of us has probably paid for with our taxes.

Moving company is picking up my things either on the 13th or 14th and then it's off to Aspen. More to come...

THE V.A. FINALLY MADE A DECISION!!!

For all of you who know about Mrs Ruby and how she said I would hear something from the VA in June...well, low and behold in a letter dated June 28th the VA awarded me 60% service related disability. This means my paperwork for vocational rehabilitation should go through shortly and school should be right around the corner. Lulu is staring at me right now so I'm going to make this short (she's ready to go socialize at the dog park. Happy late 4th to everyone.

UPDATE!!!

It appears it wasn't a Brown Recluse but rather a Black Widow spider that bite Duncan.

He's not looking so good here...this is before the vet visit. They had to shave above his eye but I didn't take a picture.

His eye is swollen...he's a tough doggie.

Spider bite (we think)

TRIP TO THE VET

Well, I donated another $97 to the vet today but this time it wasn't for Lulu (shocker) but rather Duncan. He's had a cut above his eye for about a week. This morning I woke up and noticed he looked as though he was in a boxing match. His eye was almost swollen shut plus he also had a huge red and black spot on the inside of his leg. It looked to me like a spider bite. I remember a friend of mine, Doug, getting bitten by a Brown Recluse when we were in high school. This looked exactly like what I remember. Beth was a sweetie and helped me take Duncan to the Vet. For all you who don't know, Beth is Melissa's little sis and also works at the vet. Anywho, seeing as Duncan is a whopping 65lbs she helped me out. The doctor gave him a Benadryl and Antibiotic shot plus 750mg twice a day of antibiotics. She said if it is a Brown Recluse bite they might have to do surgery to cut out a portion of the area. Poor puppy...Here are some photos of my baby.
