UPDATE!!!

It appears it wasn't a Brown Recluse but rather a Black Widow spider that bite Duncan.

He's not looking so good here...this is before the vet visit. They had to shave above his eye but I didn't take a picture.

His eye is swollen...he's a tough doggie.

TRIP TO THE VET

Well, I donated another $97 to the vet today but this time it wasn't for Lulu (shocker) but rather Duncan. He's had a cut above his eye for about a week. This morning I woke up and noticed he looked as though he was in a boxing match. His eye was almost swollen shut plus he also had a huge red and black spot on the inside of his leg. It looked to me like a spider bite. I remember a friend of mine, Doug, getting bitten by a Brown Recluse when we were in high school. This looked exactly like what I remember. Beth was a sweetie and helped me take Duncan to the Vet. For all you who don't know, Beth is Melissa's little sis and also works at the vet. Anywho, seeing as Duncan is a whopping 65lbs she helped me out. The doctor gave him a Benadryl and Antibiotic shot plus 750mg twice a day of antibiotics. She said if it is a Brown Recluse bite they might have to do surgery to cut out a portion of the area. Poor puppy...Here are some photos of my baby.

Hello all...

Quick update:

Still working for TWD at the WH. Duncan and Lulu are cute as ever and VERY energetic. As I told most of you, Melissa is studying at Oklahoma University so I'm watching Ella as well. I believe I've acquired a few gray hairs as a result. Not to worry though, I've recently went back to my natural hair color which meant an all over color eliminating any of those pesky gray hairs. Still no word from the VA on my disability, I'm beginning to wonder if they lost my paperwork. Hopefully soon! That's all for now.
